We are proud to be a ‘Safe Surgery’ for everyone in our community.

Everyone in the UK has the right to free care from a GP. If you don’t have proof of ID or address, you can still register.

Immigration status or nationality don’t matter - reception won’t ask for immigration documents and won’t share your information with the Home Office unless serious crime is involved.

Everyone living in the UK is entitled to register and consult with a GP. It means we can prevent and treat illness early and create a healthier society for everyone.

  • Our practice commits to taking steps to ensure that everyone in our community may fulfil their entitlement to quality healthcare. In partnership with Doctors of the World UK, we ensure that our practice offers a welcoming space for everyone who seeks to use our services.
  • We don’t insist on proof of address documents to register with us
  • We don’t insist on proof of identification
  • We never ask to see a visa or proof of immigration status
  • We do all we can to protect patient information
  • We work with interpreters, if needed
  • We provide written information in different languages
  • We display posters and put information on our website, to reassure patients that our surgery is a safe space
  • Our frontline staff receive training

Our patient registration policies do not discriminate based on ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, trans status, immigration status, marital status, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, or any other characteristic. Lack of identification or proof of address, immigration status or language do not prevent patient registration at Queensbridge Group Practice.

Temporary Services

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a Doctor but need to see one, you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP Practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local Practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that Practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a Practice in the town or area where you are already registered.

Your Named GP

All Patients registered with the surgery will have been allocated a named accountable GP who will be responsible for your overall care. However, you can book appointments with any of the GPs at the surgery. If you have a preference to which GP you are allocated, the practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your requests. If you wish to know which GP has been allocated to you, please ask reception at your next visit.
